Launched in May, AmaWaterways’ AmaMagna is redefining the river cruise experience. According to AmaWaterways’ official press release, this innovative new ship is the brainchild of AmaWaterways’ Co-founder and President Rudi Schreiner.
“This ship represents a labor of love for so many people who contributed groundbreaking ideas, as well as a lot of hard work that was done by the team to bring my dream project to reality,” said Schreiner in the official press release.
We also think the AmaMagna is a very spectacular and unique ship. There are so many features to gush about, but below are three standout facts about AmaWaterways’ newest ship.
Bigger Ship = Bigger Staterooms and Suites
AmaMagna is twice the width of traditional river cruise ships. But don’t worry about overcrowded decks – the ship will only welcome 20% more guests. The rest of the space is reserved for the ultra-spacious staterooms. Most of the accommodations are suites, ranging from 355 sq. ft. to 710 sq. ft. with full balconies and open seating areas. Plus, the luxurious bathrooms feature double sinks and walk-in showers. It’s the perfect retreat after a long day of activities.
All staterooms and suites feature:
- Stylish décor and natural wood accents
- Spacious closet, storage, and shelf space
- Entertainment-on-Demand with high-speed Internet
- Individually controlled air-conditioning
Magnificent for Multigenerational Getaways
River cruising has a reputation for being a couples-only getaway. However, on the AmaMagna, your whole family is welcome aboard!
With eight pairs of connecting suites, [AmaMagna] will be very attractive to multigenerational families,” said Schreiner to Forbes.com. Aside from connecting staterooms, there will be some triple/quad occupancies available.
Features like the Marina, Zen Wellness Studio, and a heated sun-deck pool with whirlpool and pop-up sky bar guarantee that anyone aboard will have a great time.
Three Ways to Sail Down the Danube
Exceptionally built for the Danube, AmaMagna will sail three fabulous itineraries in 2019 that a wide range of travelers will love.
First is the Romantic Danube itinerary. Perfect for history buffs with a soft spot for Old-World monarchies and Mozart, this 7-night cruise makes stops in Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Slovakia. On your trek, you’ll explore timeless cities like Budapest, Bratislava, and Vienna as well as plentiful UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Austria’s Wachau Valley.
The second itinerary is Melodies of the Danube. This 7-night cruise also stops in Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Slovakia. If you’re a fan of The Sound of Music, make sure to take full advantage of the stops in Salzburg and the Austrian Lake District.
Finally, there’s the Christmas Markets on the Danube. Nothing elicits a true Christmas feeling like exploring Europe’s traditional and enchanting Christmas Markets, sipping on hot mulled wine, and listening to the sounds of the cathedral bells ringing and children caroling. This is also a 7-night itinerary making stops in Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Slovakia.
As an AmaWaterways exclusive, all three itineraries will feature an Oktoberfest celebration in quaint Vilshofen, Germany.
