The Internet is buzzing about Norwegian Cruse Line’s newest addition – the Norwegian Encore. “Tailor made for the ‘Again! Again!’ experience”, this Breakaway-Plus cruise ship has so much to offer. Whether you’re planning your next family vacation or a thrilling escape from reality, there’s something for everyone aboard the Encore.

Interested to know more what makes the Encore so spectacular? Keeping reading below on everything you should know about the Norwegian Encore!

New Ship, New Eats

Make room in your stomach because NCL is debuting its new addition, Onda by Scarpetta, on the Encore. Onda, which means “wave” in Italian, will feature in-house-made pasta, signature seafood dishes, and the most delicious Italian desserts.

Onda is the first at-sea experience for the Scarpetta brand. Found in cities like New York City, Las Vegas, and London, Scarpetta is famous for its fresh tastes of Italy combined with the chic, elevated experience of the New York City social scene.

Onda will be joined onboard by crowd favorites like Q, American Diner, Cagney’s Steakhouse and Starbucks.

Encore’s Godmother is a True Superstar

Grammy Award-winning singer, Kelly Clarkson, joins the NCL family as Encore’s Godmother. The announcement was made back in September on Clarkson’s new daytime show by NCL’s President and Chief Executive Officer Andy Stuart. Clarkson, who will be the Godmother for the vessel’s entire life, will begin her officially duties on November 21 at the Christening Ceremony in Miami, FL.

Seek New Thrills

There’s not a dull moment to be had aboard the Encore. NCL debuts its largest racetrack at sea this November. It’s larger than 3 football fields! The track, which extends 13 feet over water, will have you speeding down sharp twists and hairpin turns. Plus, the Encore will also have the largest open-air Laser Tag at sea. Enhance your experience as you search for hidden treasures in augmented reality!

Finally, don’t forget to check out the Galaxy Pavilion. With its new immersive escape room and interactive, virtual maze, it’s the perfect solution for every thrill-seeker.

The Inspiration Behind the Art

Always known for their unique hull art, the Encore’s was created by renowned Spanish artist, Eduardo Arranz-Bravo. The hull features a labyrinth of color “inspired by Arranz-Bravo’s life by the sea in Barcelona and pay tribute to the vibrant guest experience Norwegian is known for.” Arranz-Bravo’s masterpiece for the Encore is the perfect representation of modern and abstract art.

Plastic-Free Solutions

NCL cares for the planet as much as it loves to travel around it. That’s why on the Encore, you won’t find a plastic bottle anywhere. It’s part of NCL’s partnership with JUST GOODS. This is part of their larger goal to completely ban plastic bottles from their whole fleet by January 2020. NCL believes in providing guests with more sustainable options at sea.

Where in the World is the Encore

The Encore has a busy schedule ahead of her. For starters, Encore will call Miami home this fall and winter as she sails around the Western Caribbean. However, starting in Spring 2020, Encore will relocate to New York City. During the spring and summer months, you can expect the Encore to take you Bermuda as well as the New England/Canada area.

Just like the birds, once the cold sets in, Encore will migrate back to Miami in Winter 2020. This time around, you’ll find her sailing around the Eastern Caribbean. Finally, by Spring 2021, Encore will make her West Coast debut and travel to Alaska from Seattle.
