TPI Extravaganza 2014, Part 3
TPI Extravaganza is an incredible event that brings together industry leaders, vendors and travel agents from around the US to Orlando, Florida. Days one and two were an enormous success, and day three brought more excitement and thrills through presentations, networking and site inspections throughout the region. Dive into the action with a breakdown of Saturday, as well as the highlights of Sunday.
Ship and Site Inspections
The bulk of Saturday and Sunday was jam-packed with opportunities for travel agent attendees to get a close-up and personal view of major attractions, theme parks and cruise ships in Florida.
Those with primarily cruise clientele went off for a ship inspection of the Disney Fantasy Ship as well as the Carnival Liberty Ship. Those with a love for theme parks stuck closer to home by spending either the morning or the afternoon touring and inspection major Central Florida attractions like SeaWorld, the Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Studios and LEGOLAND.
From Shamu to Mickey Mouse to Harry Potter, guests loved the informative and entertaining tours and insight into some of the biggest travel landmarks in the world.
TPI Extravaganza Farewell Event
After a day of touring cruise ships and theme parks, Saturday ended with the TPI Extravaganza Farewell Event. The location, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, meant that guests got an inside look at the park after hours.
Vendor representatives, TPI employees and travel agents sat together and enjoyed a private performance of the world-class interactive Indiana Jones stunt show, which opened up to an elaborate and tasty buffet dinner with tables throughout the stage set! After the buffet, guests headed over to Disney’s Streets of America to network, mingle and dig into a delicious series of desserts. The adventurous even got the opportunity to ride Star Tours, a thrilling 3D space flight through the Star Wars world and a special visit from Darth Goofy and Stormtrooper Donald.
Sunday: That’s a Wrap!
Although Saturday was the final official day of TPI Extravaganza, those who stayed for Sunday, were in for a real treat. The whole day was packed with optional site and ship inspections throughout Central Florida.
This was yet another chance for travel agents from around the world to learn more about what the region had to offer their customers and clients. Inspections and tours took place on the Disney Dream Ship, the Carnival Sunshine Ship, the Royal Caribbean International Freedom of the Seas Ship, the Walt Disney World Resorts and even through Universal Studios Orlando.

Perks for Extravaganza Attendees

It should go without saying that attending TPI Extravaganza was worth every second. The opportunity to learn more about the industry, create personal connections with vendors and gather resources was important for independent travel agents.
However, there is no question that the prizes, promotional products and perks were also appreciated. Plus, both vendors and attendees who booked three nights or more in the TPI group block of accommodation received a three-day-park-hopper ticket to explore the Disney Parks in their free time.
TPI Extravaganza 2014 was without a doubt a huge success. Vendors, attendees and TPI employees all enjoyed the fun, festivities and connections of the event.
A Mutual Celebration
TPI Extravaganza was the third annual event of its kind. The travel agents who have attended each of the three years remarked that 2014 boasted the best event yet, which shows that it is improving year after year!
Of course, it isn’t just the agents who benefited from the event. Employees at Travel Planners International also had a blast, learned a lot and created memories that will propel them until next year’s 2015 Extravaganza!
