TPI Extravaganza: Part 2

The annual TPI Extravaganza began with an inspection of both the Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Sea and Norwegian Cruise Line’s Breakaway. On Wednesday, October 8th, the fun began with a day of vendor classes, general sessions, incredible speakers, amazing entertainment and even a beach party to round it all out. Day two brought more fun and more learning as well as a chance to get to know various travel industry vendors a little bit better.

Thursday: Presentations and Speakers

Thursday, October 9th was the second full day of TPI Extravaganza, and it was jam-packed with guest speakers and captivating presentations. Travel agents got to hear from leaders in the travel industry as well as TPI’s Management team.

One of the highlights of day two was a presentation given by David Holmwood, the Director of Business Development for Central, North and West Florida for Viking River Cruises.

He spoke about the itineraries and appeal of Viking cruises in a memorable way thanks to French props and a bicycle ride through the ballroom. Viking River Cruises then hosted a game of Bonjour Bingo and each member of the winning team received a free river cruise as the prize.

Thursday: Vendor Connections and Sponsored Dinners

During the day, attendees could expect an itinerary packed with great courses, presentations and opportunities to learn more about the travel industry and home-based travel employment. Attendees also have the opportunity to attend the Vendor Round Tables which gave them an opportunity to meet with specific vendors regarding their product.

Each night was all about networking and letting loose, that meant attending one of the many vendor dinners sponsored by leading travel companies, cruise providers and resorts. Some of the many options included enjoying a dinner show with Carnival Cruise Lines or the Mark Travel Corporation, catching Disney’s Fantasmic courtesy of Norwegian Cruise Line, soaking up the breathtaking Wishes fireworks at Disney alongside representatives from Celebrity Cruises or earning your wings at the Orlando iFly Experience with Royal Caribbean.

Friday: Extravaganza Trade Show

Friday was the final day of Extravaganza, which boasts the trade show, a highlight of the event and an opportunity to make individual connections with more than 90 different vendors from throughout the industry.

Guests had the chance to stroll through the many booths, each decorated and outfitted with promotional products and brochures, in order to get more information. A TPI news team was present to document the day, and there was a group photo snapped in the afternoon so attendees could remember the event for years to come.
