Unforgettable Trip to Panama with COPA Airlines
Working as an independent travel agent has plenty of perks, just some of which include flexibility, convenience and the ability to make a great living doing something you enjoy.
Working hand in hand with a host agency like Travel Planners International brings with it extra benefits, like the ability to participate in familiarization trips, better known in the industry as FAMs, to get to know travel providers and destinations.
A recent familiarization trip to Panama on COPA Airlines was a stunning success, and one that travel employees Reyna and Vickie won’t ever forget!
Day One: Tampa to Panama in Style
The independent travel agents started their adventure in Tampa, Florida, where they hopped aboard a short direct flight to Panama City aboard COPA Airlines. The first stop was a tour, inspection and delicious lunch at the Radisson Decapolis Panama City.
From there, the fun continued with a stroll through the contemporary Megapolis Convention Center, which is a just steps away from the Radisson.
Next came checking in to a two-bedroom suite in the Hard Rock Hotel – Panama Megapolis and a fun night in Bits Lounge at 62nd Floor and Club Bling, two of the highlights of the Hard Rock Hotel.
Day Two: Exploring the Attractions of Panama City
The first full day in Panama City meant time to explore the heart of the city’s history and heritage, wonderfully preserved for tourists and locals, followed by a traditional lunch at the iconic Bucaneros restaurant.
After lunch, the agents saw the country’s most famous attraction: the Panama Canal. Both remarked that it was a breathtaking experience that really did leave them speechless.
A drive to the beach and checking in to the Royal Decameron, along with a delicious dinner and great company for the evening, rounded out their successful second day in Panama.
Day Three: History and Adventure in Panama
After a refreshing night of sleep, day three began with an incredible breakfast at the Royal Decameron and then a tour of the extensive property and all of their impressive onsite amenities.

Next up was a guided tour of the Anton Valley and the surrounding rain forest, which opened up a whole new side of Panama to the travelers.
Back at the Royal Decameron, dinner was enjoyed at the Canal Restaurant. Part of the group rounded out the wonderful day with a few hours of drinks, dancing and having the time of their lives at the hotel’s Discotheque.
Day Four: Home to Tampa Once Again
A hearty local breakfast and one last lounge around the pool, and the Travel Planners International team were back at the Panama City Airport for their flight home.
The flight was less than three hours in total, and the business class seats, quick trip through customs and attentive staff made the time fly by.
