Frick Collection
Inside an 18th-century New York mansion that was owned by steel tycoon Henry Clay Frick is a robust art collection featuring artwork from the Renaissance to the end of the 19th century. The collection has 16 permanent galleries as well as the Portico Gallery that features ceramics, decorative arts, and sculptures.
The High Line
The High Line was once a railroad track but is now an elevated space that runs from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking Districts (at the Whitney Museum of Art) to West 34th Street. It’s a landscaped “walking park” with curving walkways, picnic tables and benches, plants, public art installations, and views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline. It’s a fantastic retreat from the hullabaloo of New York City.

The Brooklyn Bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge stretches over the East River, connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn. You’ll want to take the 40 minute walk across its promenade (boardwalk elevated above the roadway) because the views are spectacular. Watch out for in-line skaters and cyclists!
